Behind the Scene...There are all kinds of pros and cons to painting outdoors. So far, I think the pros outweigh the cons. This day at the dunes on Lake Michigan was fabulous in every way: bright, warm, occasional gusts of cooling breeze....was that a pro or con? That's right. One of those "occasional gusts" picked up my painting and...do you know what "jelly side down" means? I'm happy with the painting and somehow the Sand Texture gives it an authentic feel of plein air painting. True grit. In the right places yet!
